INEM workers are deeply disillusioned with the counter-proposal presented by the institute's management. The union admits it may maintain the strike that was scheduled for the 14th and 28th of this month, having found no reason in the counter-proposal to back down from its position of struggle.
A new meeting between the union and the management is scheduled for the end of this week. The objective is to try to unblock the impasse and find a solution that satisfies both parties, avoiding the paralysis of emergency medical services.
Emergency technicians are the main discontented parties with the reorganization proposed by the ministry. The main disagreement relates to the possibility of the institute being left without ambulances, which would compromise the functioning of emergency services in Portugal.
