An American Airlines flight turned into a scene of chaos last Thursday (10/3) when a 67-year-old passenger identified as Arthur Layne Lundeen lost control on board. The man attacked the passenger sitting next to him, breaking the victim's laptop, and when a flight attendant approached, he spewed racist and homophobic insults against the crew member, who is black.
Richard O'Lenick, 53, owner of a shooting range in New Jersey, United States, was on the flight accompanied by his employee Juan Mejia, a retired police officer. The two were returning from a gun show in Reno, Nevada, and helped subdue the out-of-control passenger, who ended up strapped to a seat with tape and zip ties.
During the incident, Lundeen made a threat to O'Lenick, saying: "We're all going to die. This plane is going down." The out-of-control passenger was arrested and faces charges of assault and racist and homophobic offenses.
