The Mota-Engil and Sacyr groups returned to compete for the construction of the Bogotá metro, in a project valued at over 5 billion euros. Both companies had already been involved in a first attempt to put the project out to tender.
In the first edition of the tender, the consortium led by Mota-Engil was excluded from the process, while Sacyr's consortium ended up withdrawing, leaving the bidding without competitors.
Now, the two groups return to dispute the project, facing each other again in the race. Adding to this competition is the participation of a Chinese consortium in the tender.
The project value, exceeding 5 billion euros, makes this one of the largest transportation infrastructure opportunities in Latin America, attracting interests from international construction groups.
