Roma continue to work the market even after the transfer window closed, keeping an eye on free agents who can still be registered. The Italian club have Raphael Guerreiro among the options to strengthen the left flank, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.
The Portuguese international has been free since his stint at Bayern Munich ended. At 32 years old, Guerreiro has extensive experience at the highest level, having represented Bayern over the last three seasons after several years at rivals Borussia Dortmund.
The left-back left the Bavarians and was traveling to Portugal with the aim of signing for Benfica, a club of which he is a fervent supporter. However, according to the newspaper, coach Marco Silva did not want the player to arrive at the Luz.
Faced with Benfica's refusal, Roma now emerges as a likely destination for Raphael Guerreiro, potentially offering the player an experienced solution for their Italian squad.
