The interrogation of Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto, accused of killing his wife Gisele Alves Santana with a gunshot to the head, was postponed for the third time. The hearing was initially scheduled for August 28, then rescheduled for this Tuesday (8), and is now expected to take place on October 5 at 1 PM.
Lawyer José Miguel Silva, who represents Gisele's family, criticized the defense's strategy. According to him, the defense is questioning the forensic report, claiming that the questions are not similar to the previous one, which would be a way to delay the process.
Silva stated that the defense's goal is to make the case "fall into forgetting by the media and all of society." He classified the crime as "barbaric" and warned that the interrogation should only occur, if it occurs, in October.
The lieutenant colonel faces charges of femicide and procedural fraud.
