A 70-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police, through the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Directorate, on suspicion of sexual crimes against four children and a crime of child pornography. The facts allegedly occurred between 2022 and 2025, in a neighborhood context, in the town of Belas, in the municipality of Sintra.
The victims are currently four, 10, 11, and 16 years old. The investigation began after two of the minors revealed the alleged abuse to a person of trust, which triggered procedures by the authorities.
The Judicial Police stated that it had collected "solid evidence" that supported the suspect's arrest. The investigation continues to clarify all the circumstances of the facts, and the possibility of other victims is not excluded.
The detainee was brought before a first judicial interrogation at the Sintra Court, having been placed under the precautionary measure of preventive detention.
