A 70-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police, through the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Directorate, in Lisbon, on suspicion of sexual crimes against four children and one count of child pornography. The alleged acts occurred between 2022 and 2025, in a neighborhood context, in the locality of Belas, in the municipality of Sintra. The victims are currently four, 10, 11 and 16 years old.
The investigation began after two of the minors revealed the alleged abuse to someone they trusted. This information triggered actions by the authorities, which allowed solid evidence to be collected that supported the suspect's arrest.
The detainee was brought before a judge for first interrogation at the Sintra Court, and was placed in preventive detention as a precautionary measure. The Judicial Police, however, does not rule out the possibility of other victims, and the investigation continues to clarify all the circumstances of the facts.
