Two men robbed the Renoir Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer, on the Côte d'Azur, taking with them four artworks valued at nine million euros. The theft occurred during the early morning, when the thieves managed to enter the museum premises and removed the pieces.

During their escape, the assailants abandoned one of the paintings, which was recovered at the scene. Despite this loss, they managed to escape with three remaining works, whose total estimated value is around nine million euros.

This heist comes in a sequence of recent robberies at French museums, raising concerns about the security of cultural institutions in the country. French authorities have already begun investigations to recover the missing artworks and identify those responsible for the crime.
