IGAS advances with inspection action at Hospital de Almada due to suspension of IVG consultation

The Inspectorate-General of Health Activities (IGAS) has advanced with an inspection action at Hospital de Almada following the suspension of the Voluntary Termination of Pregnancy (IVG) consultations.

The decision to suspend IVG consultations was made by the Board of Directors of the Local Health Unit of Almada and Seixal.

According to the board of directors, the suspension is related to the lack of human resources at the health unit.

The Board of Directors emphasized that it maintains "the hope that this measure may be temporary", suggesting that the suspension should not be permanent.
