Four paintings by impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir were stolen today from the Renoir Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer, on the Côte d'Azur, southwest of France. The theft was carried out by two unidentified men.
The information was confirmed by the mayor of Cagnes-sur-Mer, the city where artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir lived for much of his life. The museum dedicated to the painter was open to the public at the time of the theft.
