A friend of the 16-year-old teenager who escaped a kidnapping attempt in Engenho Novo, in the North Zone of Rio, was also reportedly chased by a man on a motorcycle near Rua Dona Romana. The incident occurred approximately two weeks ago, and according to the girl's father, the teenager managed to escape. However, the family does not know if there is any connection between the two cases.
The 16-year-old was returning from school when she was pulled into a car on Rua Dona Romana. Inside the vehicle, she spotted an opportunity, used pepper spray against the suspect, and jumped from the moving car, managing to escape.
The teenager's father stated that the chase suffered by her friend increased the family's concern about the safety of teenagers circulating in the area. He said that despite the proximity between the incidents, there is so far no evidence that allows confirming it is the same perpetrator.
The family is now trying to reconstruct the movements of the man who approached the teenager on Friday night (4), seeking to understand the circumstances of the case and possible connections with the incident involving the friend.
