On June 10, 2026, armed men with rifles, on foot and on motorcycles, advanced through the streets of the Caminho do Céu community, in Curicica, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The group filmed the action and posted it on social media, announcing that they were taking the area from a rival militia.
The invasion was carried out by Team Astro, also known as Team Chaos, an arm of the Red Command (CV). The group is led by Rubens Mateus Lisboa Ribeiro, aka Astro, who has a court-issued arrest warrant.
The faction is composed of members tasked with invading territories controlled by rival gangs in Rio. These "war men" are known for the violence used in their expansionist actions.
On August 18, another leader of Astro, identified as Pierre Sá da Silva, aka PQD, died in a shootout with police in Gardênia Azul, in Jacarepaguá, in the city's West Zone.
