Polls outside of electoral periods should be analyzed with a certain sobriety by those who interpret them

CNN Portugal8 September 2026 at 00:10

Alexandre Poço, a member of PSD, reacted to the tracking poll published by CNN Portugal this Monday. The poll places the AD coalition, led by PSD, behind PS and Chega in terms of approval rate among Portuguese citizens.

The PSD politician warned about the need for a measured approach when analyzing polls conducted outside of electoral periods. According to Poço, those who analyze these opinion studies should do so with "a certain sobriety."

Alexandre Poço's reaction comes in the context of data indicating a decline in AD's voting intentions among Portuguese citizens, at a time when the country is not in an electoral campaign period.
