The municipal chambers of Cuba and Montemor-o-Novo celebrated a cooperation protocol based on the historical connection of the two municipalities to the Alentejo railway line, particularly the railway connection between Casa Branca and Cuba. The agreement aims to strengthen the proximity and cooperation relations between the two municipalities.
The protocol aims to promote and deepen intermunicipal cooperation in areas such as culture, sports, youth, and territorial valorization. The objective is to create new opportunities for meeting, exchange, and participation between the communities of the two municipalities.
Among the planned actions are the promotion of joint initiatives and the circulation of artists, associations, athletes, sports teams, youth, and other cultural and social agents. The dynamization of their respective fairs is also planned, seen as privileged spaces for the valorization of identity, traditions, and local economic activity.
With this agreement, Montemor-o-Novo and Cuba reinforce a relationship based on history but projected towards the future, placing culture, youth, sports, territorial valorization, and proximity between communities at the center of a joint cooperation strategy.
