Around 80 pines infected by a fungus will be felled in the Azóia area, in Sintra. The felling decision comes as a containment measure to stop the spread of the fungus affecting the trees.
The felling work will cause traffic restrictions in the Azóia area. Authorities are warning drivers about possible changes to routes and travel times during the intervention period.
The felling of the infected pines is considered necessary by the competent authorities to protect the healthy trees in the area and prevent the disease from spreading to other green areas in Sintra.
