A 33-year-old man was arrested by PSP for dangerous driving, in the early hours of Saturday, October 5, in Coimbra. The incident occurred on the IC2 road and involved several episodes of reckless driving.
According to the PSP statement, the driver drove against traffic on the road, endangering the safety of other road users. The agents tried to intercept the vehicle, but the man fled, causing a police chase through the streets of the city.
The chase continued until the authorities managed to detain the individual. The man was identified as being 33 years old and was held in preventive custody after appearing in court.
The IC2 is a national road that connects several cities in the country, being a frequently used route where driving against traffic represents an extreme danger for all drivers.
