PJ arrested 15 million in assets related to two drug trafficking cases

The Judicial Police announced today having carried out the arrest and seizure of assets worth approximately 15 million euros. This operation took place within the framework of two distinct but related investigations into criminal activities.

The investigations focus on drug trafficking and criminal association crimes. The seized assets include real estate property, bank accounts and other assets of the suspects.

The operation represents one of the largest asset seizures related to drug trafficking in Portugal. The authorities did not reveal the identity of the suspects nor the geographic location of the seizures.

Preventive detention for young suspect accused of killing grandmother

A young man was placed in preventive detention on suspicion of having killed his 73-year-old grandmother, in the Braga area. The crime is believed to have occurred last week, when the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim inside the house. The GNR was alerted by locals and family members who found the elderly woman dead. The authorities are still unaware of the motives for the crime.
