International volunteers are participating until September 13 in the EcoFílveda International Work Camp, promoted by the BioLiving Association in partnership with the municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha. The work takes place in the parish of Ribeira de Fráguas and consists of natural heritage protection actions, focusing on the preservation of the Rio Fílveda. The participants are young people from Portugal, Czech Republic, Italy, Colombia, Mexico, Belgium, and Spain.

The tasks carried out include maintenance and restoration of water lines, litter cleaning, removal of barriers, control of invasive species, construction of shelters for native fauna, planting of riverside trees and shrubs, and desilting. During the 12 days of the camp, the volunteers are staying at the Centro de Voluntariado Ambiental, located in Frossos.

The program also includes a strong cultural component, with visits to the historic center of Albergaria-a-Velha, Aveiro, and Barra beach, a Tibetan singing bowls workshop, and an intercultural night, among other activities aimed at enriching the participants' experience.
