A wedding photoshoot ended unexpectedly for Jamie and Michelle Wade, both 46, when the newlyweds lost their balance in a canoe and fell into the Bure River in Norfolk on August 29. Michelle, who was wearing a wedding dress valued at 1,800 pounds, said her first reaction was to think about the outfit and hairstyle. She told the Daily Mail that she only remembered thinking she couldn't get into the water with the dress arranged and that "they sank like the Titanic."
The accident was just one of several unexpected events that marked the celebration, but it didn't stop the couple from enjoying the wedding party. The photoshoot in the canoe was part of the celebrations for the big day, which had already started with other surprises.
Jamie and Michelle met at school in 1993, but went their separate ways until they reunited by chance in 2016, in a Tesco supermarket parking lot. Five years later, they got engaged — also on a boat. The path to the wedding included family losses and difficulties, but the couple managed to hold the ceremony.
