The Guardia Civil is investigating the discovery of two bodies that were found floating in the waters of the island of Formentera, in the Balearic Islands. One of the bodies had already been reported on Sunday as corresponding to a minor, while the second body belongs to an adult person.
Both bodies were found wearing life jackets and showed an advanced state of decomposition. The authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the victims or the origin of the bodies.
Investigators believe that the two deceased could be migrants who lost their lives during a crossing in a precarious vessel, known as a "patera," although the exact causes of death have not yet been confirmed.
The case remains under investigation by the Guardia Civil, which is working to determine the complete circumstances of the death and possibly identify the bodies.
