The Caretos de Podence marked their presence at the Mediterranean Diet Fair in Tavira, bringing the Trás-os-Montes tradition to the south of the country. This internationally recognized Portuguese cultural manifestation was presented to visitors through a stand dedicated exclusively to this celebration.
In the space created for the occasion, children had the opportunity to become Facanitos, experiencing up close the colorful costumes, masks, and the energy characteristic of this ancestral tradition. The activity sparked great enthusiasm among the youngest.
The initiative aims to bring new generations closer to this cultural heritage, allowing them to learn about and experience part of the universe of the Caretos de Podence in an interactive and immersive way.
With this presence in Tavira, the Caretos de Podence continue to promote beyond regional borders the identity, traditions, and heritage of Trás-os-Montes, keeping alive a culture deeply connected to Portuguese identity. The activity was coordinated by the team responsible for the event, with journalist Vitória Botelho covering the initiative.
