The Shrine of Our Lady of Peneda hosted another edition of Concertinas Day, one of the most anticipated and popular moments of the Pilgrimage. Thousands of people gathered at the shrine to attend the Blessing of the Concertinas, an event that unites religious tradition with Minho popular culture.
The night was marked by the celebration of traditional music, with special emphasis on the concertinas, which could be heard throughout the evening. The event also included the tradition of rusgas and challenge singing, characteristic elements of the popular culture of the Minho region.
The moment of the Blessing of the Concertinas combined faith and religion with popular culture, reflecting the true Minhoto spirit. The Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Peneda ends on Tuesday, September 8.
