Rock in Rio takes place this Monday, September 7th, which is a holiday, marking the end of the festival's first week. The party happens at the City of Rock with a lineup that includes major names in international and national music.
On the Mundo Stage, the presentation schedules are: Luísa Sonza invites Roberto Menescal at 4:10pm, Jon Batiste at 6:15pm, Gilberto Gil at 8:30pm and Elton John at 11pm. On the Sunset Stage, the lineup includes Vanessa da Mata invites Rubel at 3pm, Roupa Nova invites Guilherme Arantes at 5:10pm, Péricles sings Motown at 7:50pm and Laufey at 9:55pm.
Elton John is highlighted as one of the festival's biggest attractions, described as a singer, pianist and songwriter. For Rock in Rio, he is expected to perform hits like "Rocket Man," "Your Song," "Tiny Dancer," "Bennie and the Jets" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."
