The authorities are conducting searches by sea and land in the area of Praia da Foz, near Meco, in Portugal. The operation is taking place after testimonies indicated that several people would have disembarked on the Portuguese coast.

The GNR, the security forces involved in the investigation, points to the possibility that people trafficking is behind the incident. The searches continue to locate the individuals who would have arrived in the national territory by sea.
