Starting in 2027, the Internet in Spain will undergo significant changes. The Spanish Government approved the update of the Universal Telecommunications Service rules, substantially increasing the minimum Internet access speed for citizens.
The measure aims to guarantee that all inhabitants of Spain have access to a faster and more reliable Internet connection. The new rules establish more rigorous obligations for telecommunications operators regarding the quality of service offered.
This change is part of a broader strategy to modernize the country's digital infrastructure and reduce the digital divide, especially in rural areas where access to high-speed internet has been more limited.
