Two more samba schools from Rio de Janeiro's Special Group defined their samba-enredos for the 2027 Carnival. In the early hours of this Sunday, Mangueira and Mocidade concluded their musical competitions at their rehearsal halls. Mangueira will have Oyá as its theme, while Mocidade will address Latin America.
The previous day, Portela had already defined its samba, which will be a tribute to Monarco. The Mangueira samba-enredo final featured the presence of Daniela Mercury, one of the main voices who sang the winning composition.
The championship samba of Mangueira is authored by Lequinho, Júnior Fionda, Gabriel Machado, Orlando Ambrósio, Guilherme Sá and Paulinho Bandolim. The song that came in second place was composed by Arlindinho and company, with the live participation of singer Majur, who recorded this version during the contest.
