USC Paredes achieved an important victory by beating Varzim 1-0 in Póvoa de Varzim, taking a place at the top of Series A of Liga 3. The team coached by Agostinho Bento overcame Varzim's good start and secured the three points away from home, reaching nine points and tying the opponent at the top of the standings.
The goal for Paredes was scored in the 16th minute by Daniel Rodrigues, after an assist from Miguel Moreno down the left flank. The forward completed the play with a right-footed shot and placed the ball in the goal defended by Pedro Costa. The minimal advantage held until the final whistle, despite the home team's reaction. FC Paços de Ferreira continues without a victory this season, after drawing 2-2 with Vianense in Viana do Castelo.
