The Portuguese Sea and Atmosphere Institute issued a yellow warning for hot weather for seven districts of mainland Portugal, valid until 9:00 PM on Monday. The districts covered are Beja, Castelo Branco, Évora, Faro, Lisbon, Setúbal and Portalegre, due to the high maximum temperature values expected.
IPMA also maintained, until 9:00 PM on Saturday, a yellow warning for 17 of the 18 districts of mainland Portugal, with Viana do Castelo being the only exception. The yellow warning is the least severe on a three-level scale and is issued when there is risk for activities dependent on the meteorological situation.
For the Western group of the Azores, IPMA issued a yellow warning for rainfall sometimes heavy, with possibility of thunderstorm, which was in effect until 9:00 AM on the same day.
