Ukraine: Volodymyr Zelensky orders suspension of attacks against Russia

Diário de Aveiro5 September 2026 at 19:45

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, ordered the suspension of attacks against Russia. The decision was made due to the visit of United States envoys, who that weekend were in the Russian and Ukrainian capitals for negotiations. Zelensky decided to pause military operations as a gesture of good faith during the talks mediated by the United States. The American envoys visited Moscow and Kiev as part of diplomatic efforts to try to find a solution to the conflict between the two countries.
