The Dão Wine Fair opened its doors in Nelas in an edition that returns to put the wine region at the center of attention. The official opening session had the presence of the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, who was present before local authorities, producers, economic agents and visitors.
In his speech, the head of Government highlighted the importance of agriculture and, specifically, of Dão wine for the region and for the country. Montenegro underlined the role of the wine sector as a driver of economic and social development.
The fair thus returns to Nelas to promote the wines of the Dão region, one of the most prestigious wine zones in Portugal, bringing together producers and industry professionals during several days of the event.
The Prime Minister's presence at the opening of the fair reflects the relevance that the executive attributes to the national agricultural and wine sector, seeking to demonstrate institutional support for an economic activity with strong local and regional impact.
