Seventy thousand Guinness glasses have disappeared. Police are looking for the truck and the beer

ZAP Notícias5 September 2026 at 15:10

Approximately 70,000 pints of Guinness beer, equivalent to about 39,800 liters, were stolen from a depot near Liverpool, in northwest England. Cheshire police confirmed on Thursday that two truck trailers loaded with barrels of the famous creamy black beer were targeted in the theft.

The value of the stolen cargo was estimated at around 134,000 euros, making this robbery one of the largest involving Guinness beer in the United Kingdom. Police believe Guinness may now be considered the most stolen beer in the world.

Authorities are actively searching for the missing truck and cargo. Detective Gary McClatchy commented on the case with humor, referencing the well-known advertising slogan "Guinness is good for you," but emphasizing that this only applies when the beer is legally purchased and paid for.
