A couple of British tourists was detained by the Guardia Civil in Magaluf, on the island of Mallorca, in Spain, last Wednesday. The agents intervened after being called to the location due to an incident at a restaurant.
The couple refused to pay the bill at the establishment, causing a conflict with the restaurant staff. When the Guardia Civil agents arrived at the location to resolve the situation, the couple ended up assaulting the police.
The tourists were subsequently detained by the Spanish authorities. The security forces did not provide further details about the couple's identity or about the amount of the bill in question.
