Two former employees of Spanish singer Julio Iglesias have filed a new complaint against him for sexual assault and forced labor, announced this Friday (4) by NGO Women's Link Worldwide, which represents the women. The two had already filed an initial complaint against the artist in January, but the Spanish courts dismissed the case, considering they did not have jurisdiction to try facts that allegedly occurred in the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic.
The women claim to have suffered sexual assault and abuse while working on Iglesias' properties in both countries, in 2021. The new complaint was filed after the initial dismissal, now seeking new processing of the case.
Julio Iglesias, 82 years old and who sold over 300 million records, classified the accusations as "absolutely false" and denied "having abused, coerced or disrespected any woman." The singer's defense has not yet specifically commented on the new complaint filed.
