Brazilian e-commerce ended 2025 with revenue of R$ 235.5 billion, representing a 15.3% increase compared to the previous year, according to projections from the Brazilian Association of Artificial Intelligence and E-commerce (Abiacom). For the current year, the expectation is revenue of R$ 258.9 billion, with a 9.9% advance, totaling 460.9 million orders and an average ticket of R$ 562.15.
This growth has directed digital retail's attention to the final link in the logistics chain: delivering on time promised at national scale. The country recorded 8,570 cargo theft incidents in 2025, a 16.7% decrease compared to 2024, according to a survey by NTC&Logística.
Despite the reduction in the number of incidents, direct losses remained close to R$ 900 million and exceed R$ 1 billion when indirect effects such as insurance, escorts, interruptions, and supply delays are added. E-commerce growth coexists with these risks that affect cost and operational continuity.
The operation of J&T Express exemplifies the challenge faced by the sector. According to the company, its network reaches 100% of Brazilian ZIP codes and all 5,570 municipalities in the country, demonstrating the scale necessary to meet the growing demand of national e-commerce.
