The name of Sergio "Kun" Agüero appears in conversations, audios and documents seized during an investigation against a criminal organization accused of international drug trafficking and money laundering in Argentina. The former player from Independiente, Manchester City and the Argentine national team, however, is not charged or under investigation in the case. The references to him are related to commercial negotiations that members of the group tried to develop using the KRÜ brand, founded by the former athlete.
The investigation led to the arrest, last week, of Pablo "Bebote" Álvarez, historic leader of the Independiente barra brava. The case is being handled by Judge Pablo Yadarola, who accuses the group of participating in the trafficking of synthetic drugs coming from Spain and the entry of cocaine from Bolivia.
Among those under investigation are Diego Francisco Anzalone, Bono Uziel De Carlucci and Raúl Omar "Bruja" Manzone. The investigation indicates that companies in the group were used to mix drug money with resources of legitimate origin.
