Judge William Sullivan threatened this Friday to declare Lindsay Clancy's trial a mistrial, a Massachusetts woman accused of murdering her three children in 2023. The decision was made after the jury communicated for the third time that it could not reach a unanimous verdict.
The twelve jury members had accumulated approximately 36 hours of deliberations without reaching an agreement on the verdict.
Lindsay Clancy faces charges related to the death of her three children, a case that occurred in 2023 and that garnered national attention in the United States. The trial was underway when the difficulties with the verdict arose.
Should Judge Sullivan confirm the declaration of a mistrial, the trial will be concluded without a verdict and the case may be presented again to a new jury in the future.
