Miguel Stilwell: "Portugal must define the conditions for data centers clearly and in advance"

Miguel Stilwell, CEO of EDP, defends that Portugal must clearly and in advance define the conditions for the installation of data centers in the country. His statements arise in the context of growing interest in establishing data centers on the Iberian Peninsula.

The EDP leader acknowledges that there are important competitive advantages for Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula in attracting these projects. However, Stilwell warns that these advantages should not lead to the indiscriminate acceptance of all data center projects.

The CEO also emphasizes that the competitive advantages should not result in a reduction of the country's ambitions in terms of sustainability or other relevant criteria. This position suggests a selective and strategic approach to the approval of data center projects in national territory.
