Young Gustavo dos Santos confessed to having murdered his girlfriend, Karoline Heintz, on May 21, in the city of Caxias do Sul, in Brazil. According to his own statement, it was "the devil" who ordered him to commit the crime. The young woman's body was found in the trunk of a Jeep vehicle.
Gustavo's mother, Vanessa dos Santos, was also detained by authorities for allegedly helping to cover up the crime. The investigation revealed that the mother had knowledge of the homicide and chose not to alert the authorities, thus participating in the concealment of the victim's body.
Karoline Heintz was 22 years old and was described as a young woman with no criminal record. The case caused great commotion in the region, especially after the macabre details of the crime and the alleged supernatural motivation invoked by the assassin became known.
The authorities continue to investigate the full circumstances of the homicide, while Gustavo and his mother remain detained. The Public Prosecutor's Office is now analyzing the evidence collected to proceed with the legal proceedings against both suspects.
