The Forum for Competitiveness predicts that Portugal will grow less than 2% in 2026 only in a very negative scenario, that is, if "many things go wrong". This projection emerges as a pessimistic scenario relative to the country's economic outlook.
The organization recognizes, however, that there are signs of slowdown in investment and tourism for the final stretch of the year. These indicators suggest an economic deceleration that may influence future performance.
Growth below 2% is not considered the base scenario, but rather a possibility that would depend on significant adverse factors. The Forum maintains a moderate perspective on the forecasts, without anticipating such negative results within the analyzed horizon.
