One year after the derailment of the Gloria Elevator in Lisbon, Isaque Adam continues to deal with the death of his wife, Ana Paula Lopes, one of the 16 fatalities in the September 3, 2025 tragedy. Ana Paula, 49, was married to Isaque for 22 years and worked at Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa. That afternoon, she had left work and entered the elevator for her usual journey along Calçada da Glória, accompanied by a colleague.
The widower and his daughter, who was 17 at the time of the accident and is now 18, filed a lawsuit at the Circle Administrative Court of Lisbon seeking 1,050,000 euros in compensation. The action was filed against Carris, insurer Fidelidade, and company MNTC – Engineering
