Volkswagen Group supposedly leaked a board of directors report suggesting Seat's premature closure in 2029 before presenting it to the consortium's supervisory board. This information leak reportedly occurred between Wednesday and Thursday in Wolfsburg, the group's headquarters.

The most plausible explanation for this situation is that it is a strategic communication maneuver, intended to gauge the reaction of the external environment before making a definitive decision. The article classifies this leak as an "interested hoax" according to corporate communication manuals.

The truth is that there is no firm decision about the Spanish brand's immediate future. Seat will continue at least until 2032, when the end of life of its three main models is planned: Ibiza, Arona and León. This timeline had already been communicated previously.
