The UN secretary-general, António Guterres, today admitted he wants to use the months he has left in office to boost the United Nations reform process, which he called the "UN80 Initiative".
Guterres is in the final months of his term leading the organization, and intends to dedicate this period to the modernization and restructuring of the UN structure.
The "UN80 Initiative" represents the secretary-general's effort to leave a legacy of institutional transformation before ending his term.
António Guterres has led the organization since 2017, having been reappointed for a second term which is now approaching its end.
