Figueira da Foz may connect to Coimbra through the 'metrobus' transport system. The announcement was made by mayor Pedro Santana Lopes, president of the Figueira municipality, after a meeting with the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, which took place on Monday.
Pedro Santana Lopes revealed to journalists that, in that meeting, the project development was guaranteed. This metrobus connection would allow the two cities to be connected, facilitating transportation between them.
The metrobus system is a type of rapid bus transport, generally with dedicated lanes, offering a more flexible and economical alternative compared to traditional metro. The completion of this project would represent a significant change in mobility between Coimbra and Figueira da Foz.
