Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro reacted with "great tranquility" to the censure motion filed by the Chega party. Montenegro was in São Tomé and Príncipe, where he was attending the inauguration of President Carlos Vila Nova, when he was questioned about the motion filed on Wednesday.
The prime minister appeared smiling and stated that this is "a moment that democracy must face with a sense of responsibility". He argued that the Government "must govern, solve problems and find solutions".
Montenegro spoke out against what he described as a political game of "what do I have to do to appear more than the others, so that people talk more about me", leaving an implicit message to political commentators.
