Joel Rodrigues proposes a helmet distribution program for low-income motorcyclists in the state of Piauí. The initiative seeks to provide safety equipment for those who cannot afford to purchase an adequate helmet.
The proposal aims to address a chronic problem in Piauí's traffic, which is the high number of fatal accidents involving motorcycles. Helmet use is mandatory in Brazil, but many low-income motorcyclists ride without the equipment because they cannot afford to purchase one.
With the program, Joel Rodrigues intends to reduce the rates of accidents and deaths in the state's traffic, especially among the most economically vulnerable population.
