President Lula blamed his main adversary in the electoral race, Senator and presidential candidate Bolsonaro, for working to block the advancement of ending the 6x1 work schedule in the Senate. The accusation was made indirectly, through Lula's campaign coordinator, Rogério Marinho, who left a recorded vote against the proposal in the Senate CCJ.
Lula stated that the adversaries are trying to block the agenda with the argument that the country's economy will break. The president compared this justification to criticisms made in the past against the creation of other rights, such as vacation, the 13th salary, and even against the end of slavery. Lula highlighted that Brazil witnessed once again yesterday who is who in the National Congress.
The proposal was approved yesterday in the Senate Constitution and Justice Committee symbolically, but four allies of Bolsonaro recorded votes against, including Rogério Marinho himself. Lula reaffirmed that the government remains mobilized to pass the change in Congress without salary reduction.
