Hugo Soares, parliamentary leader of the PSD, criticized in an interview with SIC Notícias the motion of censure presented by Chega, considering it a "ridiculous" and anti-Government initiative, orchestrated by the party led by André Ventura.

The social-democrat once again defended Luís Neves, current Secretary of State of the Presidency, reiterating his confidence in the Prime Minister Luís Montenegro's "discernment" in the selection of his collaborators.

Hugo Soares stated that he believes in the Portuguese judicial system, comparing this situation to other cases involving political figures such as Miguel Macedo, Pedro Nuno Santos and Luís Montenegro himself, in which confidence in the institutions was maintained.

The parliamentary leader of the PSD emphasized that the party's position is one of continuity in its support for the government, remaining alongside Luís Montenegro in the face of what he classified as attempts at political destabilization.
