The meeting took place on February 8, 2025, when Soares sent a photograph from inside the store to the bank owner.
THE GLOBO tried to obtain access to the list of suits ordered and the purchase receipts, but the employees, already aware of the case's fallout, avoided reporting what happened that day and, especially, who paid for what. The tailor shop's legal department was called and promised to follow up, but there was no response.
The store, with an unassuming facade, is owned by Vasco Vasconcellos and works exclusively with men's clothing. A custom-made pants and jacket set costs starting at R$ 21.9 thousand. The establishment's main characteristic is the luxury cars of clients parked in front and the security guards watching the space.
Mendonça's visit to the tailor shop generated controversy for involving a Supreme Court judge and a lawyer linked to a bank that is under investigation. The meeting was documented through a photograph sent by Soares to Vorcaro, which sparked media interest in the circumstances of the relationship between the minister and the lawyer.
