The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has already been privately discussing with advisors and other government officials the possibility of declaring the war with Iran as ended, according to the Wall Street Journal newspaper. According to the Republican, only economic pressure, with the country already in a complicated economic situation, can dismantle the nuclear program or cause the regime to end.
Part of the need to declare the end of the war is focused on the fact that there are fears that the war could harm the candidates supported by Trump. Recently, the president told journalists that he could carry out new attacks, after Iranian bombings in the Strait of Hormuz.
New attacks have been recorded in recent days by both sides, after more than a month of the situation being somewhat calmer for negotiations. The deployment of American troops in the Middle East has been extended until 2027.
