The lawyer Ciro Rocha Soares was identified by the Federal Police as the intermediary in contacts between Daniel Vorcaro, founder of Banco Master, with Attorney General Paulo Gonet and Supreme Court Justice André Mendonça.
Soares was born in Bahia but was raised in Minas Gerais. Later, he returned to his home state, where he married and spent a long period living in Salvador, building his career as a lawyer. Later, he left Bahia for São Paulo, also expanding his presence in Brasília.
During a stint in Minas Gerais, he met Vorcaro before he took control of Banco Master. According to reports, both are Atlético fans and met at the Mineirão stadium in Belo Horizonte, cheering for Galo.
Soares is a managing partner at the law firm that bears his name. The PF investigation seeks to clarify the nature and content of the alleged conversations between Vorcaro and the aforementioned authorities, based on evidence seized during the operation.
